About us
Growing up in a sleepy town in Yunnan Province,China. I was captivated by the quiet power of Chinese temple rituals and the stoic grace of British churches. This duality stayed with me through university in China—where I studied marketing and finance—and later at Lancaster University, where my fascination with cross-cultural storytelling deepened. The cobbled streets of Lancaster, the scent of Yorkshire tea, and the warmth of its people taught me that true connection lies in embracing contrasts.
After years navigating China’s corporate world—honing strategies at Microsoft and leading teams in Shanghai—I felt adrift. The suits, spreadsheets, and boardroom politics no longer resonated. My parents’ grey hair, my wife’s quiet longing for family dinners, and my own yearning for tranquillity forced a reckoning: Was this the life I’d imagined?
In 2024, I walked away from the corporate rat race—not out of disdain for business, but out of love for something deeper. With a friend, I co-founded Mixdiff ("Mixing Mysticism, Defining Destiny"), a homage to the quiet moments that matter: sipping jasmine tea in a Yunnan monastery, tracing Celtic knots in a misty English garden, or finding solace in a London church’s stained glass.
Our first collection emerged from these dual inspirations. We handcrafted jade pendants etched with Taoist yin-yang symbols, Buddha-inspired meditation beads, and lotus diffusers that smelled like monsoon rains. For our Western-inspired pieces, we forged sterling silver ankh pendants (symbols of eternity), moon phase necklaces (for reflection), and tarot-themed journals (for introspection). Each item whispers a story: a sterling silver keychain for unlocking new paths, a sandalwood mala bracelet for mindful living.
Why share this now? Because I believe objects should do more than decorate—they should nourish the soul. In a world fixated on hustle, Mixdiff is a quiet rebellion: a reminder that true belonging lies in honouring our roots while embracing the unknown. Whether you find peace in Kyoto’s Zen gardens or London’s haunted pubs, our artefacts are designed to spark curiosity, bridge cultures, and redefine what it means to belong.
